About The Event
A few years ago, I took a trip to Yunnan and absolutely fell in love with the region. The mountains were beautiful, the people were warm, and the food was unlike anywhere else in China.
Yunnan is located in southwest China and is home to more than 25 ethnic minority groups. Its cuisine reflects both the geography and the cultures of the region. You'll find wild mushrooms, fresh herbs, preserved vegetables, grilled meats, and rice noodles. Influenced by neighboring provinces such as Sichuan and Tibet, as well as the countries of Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam, the food is vibrant, flavorful, and full of character.
For our July dinner, I want to share some of the dishes and flavors that make Yunnan so special. It is a region where many cultures meet, and the food tells that story. I can't wait to bring a little taste of Yunnan to Montana.
