About The Event
Yunnan, in China’s southwest, has long captivated travelers—National Geographic accounts from the 1920s and 1930s inspired the Shangri-La of James Hilton’s novel Lost Horizon—for its unspoiled natural landscapes, distinct ethnic cultures, and singular cuisine, which shares elements with its neighbors: Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam to the south, and Sichuan province and Tibet to the north. Even the name, which translates to “south of the clouds,” evokes a can-this-be-real beauty.
Yunnan food as diversified as Yunnan's geography and population, as colorful and multifaceted are the dishes you can eat. Yunnan Province has by far the greatest variety of food to offer!
